More Information — Keep an eye on this site!

Rio Grande Borderland Ministries has taken on quite a high profile in the Diocese, especially due to recent events along the border. Many of the congregations along the border are involved because of proximity, but border issues are not restricted to the border area, and there is interest across the diocese.

RGBM is calling two meetings, one in the north and one in the south, inviting all congregations that would like to have an active part in this ministry to get together, share what is going on, and forge partnerships for further ministry.

Furthermore, as you may already know, RGBM is planning a Border Ministry Summit, November 16-18, at the Airport Marriott in El Paso. Dioceses that have border between the U.S. and Mexico (4 on the U.S. side and 2 on the Mexico side) have been invited to bring delegations to raise awareness and build partnerships for ministry. More information will be posted as it develops.

As part of these two meetings, a team will be formed to put together our own diocesan presentation.

Meeting times and places have been planned on the same dates and venues as two of the good-bye parties for Bishop Vono so that participants can maximize their travel efforts. Meetings are scheduled to take an hour to an hour and a quarter.

We hope many of you can come to one of these meetings.

Thank you and blessings,

The Rev. Dr. Paul Moore+
RGBM Chair
